They’re a flighty fish. I find that if you have an abundance of shells and some structure for them to hide behind (rock piles, drift wood, etc) they’ll be more brave and out-going. The tank currently has a lot of floating plants, moss, and algae and the fish seem all that much more assured that they’re safe so they spend all they time out and about only retreating to the shells when th2ï1#8e&7;rey»¿ startled (rarely) or tending a brood or clutch of eggs (often.)
